We were a bit reluctant to visit Lago at first due to many negative reviews but since we have a gift certificate we might as well checked it out. The food was quite good but very salty. We ordered calamari for appetizer and it came to the table way too fast! But a very interesting dish ... in a good way. Main course came about the right time. I had sable fish which was quite good but salty and a bit oily. My husband ordered a rib steak. From most of the reviews we read, Lago tends to over cooked their steaks so he ordered rare. It came out med-rare, but was good. I had key lime pie for dessert. Mediocre. The service was very good, our waitress was efficient and polite. What surprise me at the end was when I asked for my dessert to go because I could only eat about 1/3 of it. I opened the box shortly after she gave to me just to make sure it was my dessert (happened before). My dessert was literally dumped into the box ... it was splattered upside down! Not sure what happened there. Overall, it was a nice restaurant, good food and good service. We would visit it again. Lire plus

On Wednesdays Montana's has an "all you can eat beef rib night", its worth the trip and go there hungry. They have 2 choices of beef ribs "back" or "side" ribs, back ribs are more tender and have more meat on them. Its a fantastic meal and very delicious, I find myself dreaming of those ribs the rest of the week. Sadly they do not offer the same meal any other night of the week, its a one night only affair, the rest of the week they offer only a pork bone substitute for "Ribs" which is not at all like on rib night. Another annoying thing is you cannot switch rib type once you start so choose carefully. I know they have Rib night in several other Montana's restaurants in the Ottawa area on the same night but I don't know if it's chain wide, check with your local restaurant. The Wednesday night beef ribs are the best I've ever had. Lire plus

This restaurant is such a contradiction. It has the potential to become the best restaurant in Ottawa (if not the country). All the elements are in place. Awesome, atmosphere, great staff (mostly), and good food. The only stick in the ointment is a single toxic personality in the guise of a server, who seems intent on destroying all of that and ensuring that you never come back. She's a bit older than the other servers (who are all excellent), but this is not about age. Irene's up the road seems like an older crowd of patrons and servers, but they are awesome...but I digress, this not about Irene's, I just wanted to show that the contradiction at Patty's boils down to one personality. It's a real pity, because everything and everyone else there is out of this world. Lire plus

I went to the new Beijing Legend restaurant on Bank with my wife and our friends. My wife is Chinese and is picky about your 'authentic flavour'. The atmosphere of this place is very nice and better than other Chinese restaurants I have been. The workers all wear nice uniform and great you with a smile. This restaurant has only been open a few weeks so the service was a little slow. I don't think it was a big concern as it was much faster than most restaurants around(just not compared to normal Chinese food). The best thing about Beijing Legend was the taste of the food. We ordered a fish dish, pork dish with mushrooms and a tofu dish. We started the meal with a nice soup. Each dish brought a smile to our faces and we were surprised how good it tasted. The portions were large and even with 4 of us we had to take some home. Currently Beijing legend is CASH ONLY however I believe that will change soon. They also will have their liquer licence soon so once they have that it will be an even better experience. My wife and I look forward to going again soon. Lire plus

i love this place. i had tried indian food everywhere, but just not like this. i am now addicted to this place's indian food and go there almost every day, if i cant make it, i have it delivered or picked-up. i just cant live without it! not only how good it tastes, the food is super healthy. its all mostly natural herbs and stuff. i seriously recommend this place to everybody. if you dont try this food, believe me, YOU ARE MISSING OUT! Great food that is well priced keeps us coming back over and over again. The atmosphere is nothing spectacular but it is clean and well maintained. It simply doesn't wow. We drop in frequently for a quick meal and order one of the vermicelli bowl dishes. Coupled with green tea it makes for a very tasty and satisfying meal. When we visit with more people we like to order a variety of dishes and have yet to be disappointed. The sizzling seafood platter is particularly tasty. As a student I look for deals for food.....This place is a great deal! The food is delicious and the plates are plenty big. I've been here twice since I moved here and both times were delicious. I ordered the omelet wrap with smoked meat,feta, and spinach. They didn't cheat out of any of those toppings! The second time I ordered an all day breakfast special...for 6 bucks I got eggs,bacon,toast, pancakes, beans, hashbrowns and coffee. Definitely can't beat that Lire plus

Great atmosphere and the food is absolutely delicious! I have been to this same place many times now because I can't stop going back! The plates are presented so nicely and you can tell they take their time to ensure the food is of high quality. Never once have I had to return an item.
